Some links on the reveal page are affiliate links. If you buy something after following one, the site earns a small commission from the retailer. Your price is the same either way, and nothing you do on the site changes what the retailer charges you.

Today that means Bookshop.org on the book quizzes. Bookshop splits its proceeds with independent bookstores, which is why it's the one we picked. If other programs get added they'll be named here.

Affiliate links only ever appear as the trailing link next to a name you missed. They never appear inside the writing. No blurb has been shaded to sell you a book.

What the site knows about you

No accounts. No cookies. Nothing that follows you to another website.

Your quiz answers stay in your browser and are never sent anywhere. The site counts four things: that a quiz was started, that one was finished (with the score, as a number), that a share button was pressed, and that an affiliate link was clicked. Each of those records the date, which quiz, and your country. That's the whole row. No IP address, no device fingerprint, no identifier that could tie two of them to the same person.

There are no third-party scripts on this site. Nothing from an advertising network, nothing from an analytics company, nothing that loads from another domain and watches you. Visitor counts come from the server logs Cloudflare keeps anyway, which need no script on the page.

Sometimes two versions of a page are compared to see which one reads better. Which version you got is picked at random when the page loads and forgotten the moment you leave. It isn't stored on your device and it isn't attached to you.

Editorial

Nobody pays for placement. Retailers have no say in which names appear on a quiz or how they're described. The lists come from the awards bodies, festivals, and year-end roundups named on each quiz.
